DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) is a radio standard for voice communications. With the push of a button you register a telephone with the base station to make calls without the bother of laying cables. And there are other advantages with DECT: excellent speech quality, high range and low susceptibility to interference. Certain security standards must be fulfilled nevertheless to prevent unauthorized parties from misusing your line.

The good news is that DECT telephones generally fulfill a very high security standard ex works, so that you do not have to take action. For registration simply press the appropriate button on the device and wait a moment – that's all. Every DECT telephone should also be equipped with an identification function. This means that the device has to identify itself to the base station every time it makes a call by supplying a specific randomized key.
