Creating a template for smart home devices

You can save the individual settings of your smart plugs and radiator controls, for example FRITZ!DECT 200 or FRITZ!DECT 302, in different templates. Simply select the appropriate template as required and click to enable the desired settings. You can use templates to switch individual smart home devices or groups.

For example, if you work shifts, you can save different heating and switching profiles in corresponding templates for early and late shift and then quickly switch between these templates at any time.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Creating and using a template

Creating a template

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click on the "Templates" tab.
  4. Click the "Create New Template" button.
  5. Enable the option "Create new template" and click "Next".
  6. Select the kind of device you would like to create a template for and click "Next".

Note:Only devices of the same kind, i.e. smart plug/LED light or radiator control, can be switched together in a template.

  7. Enter a name for the template, for example "early shift", and select the devices and groups you want to assign to the template.

Note:If a device is already in a group, you cannot assign just that device to a template; you can only assign the entire group to a template.

  8. Click "Next".
  9. Select the desired switching settings and click "Finished".
  10. When you create the first template, the settings of all smart home devices and groups are automatically saved and made available in the "Show Saved Settings" section.

Applying a template

When a template is applied, the current settings of the smart home devices and groups included in the template are overwritten:

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click on the "Templates" tab.
  4. Click "Apply template" for the desired template.
  5. Click on "OK".

Note:You can also enable the template with a FRITZ!DECT smart switch or a FRITZ!Fon (menu "Home Network > Smart Home"), or use FRITZ!App Smart Home to enable it.
