Creating a template for smart home devices

You can save the individual settings of your radiator controls, for example FRITZ!DECT 301, in different templates. Simply select the appropriate template as required and click to enable the desired settings. You can enable the template with the user interface of your FRITZ!Box, a FRITZ!DECT smart switch, with FRITZ!Fon, and with FRITZ!App Smart Home.You can use templates to switch individual radiator controls or groups.

For example, if you work shifts, you can save different heating and switching profiles in corresponding templates for early and late shift and then quickly switch between these templates at any time.

  1. Click "Home Network" or "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu or click "Groups and Templates" in the "Smart Home" menu.
  3. Click on the "Templates" tab or click the "Create Template" button.
  4. Configure the desired settings and select the devices, the switching type, and the name of the new template.

    Note:If a device is already in a group, you cannot assign just that device to a template; you can only assign the entire group to a template.

  5. Click "Finished" or "OK" to save the settings.

Applying a template

When a template is applied, the current settings of the smart home devices and groups included in the template are overwritten:

  1. Click "Home Network" or "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu or click "Operation" in the "Smart Home" menu.
  3. If available, click on the "Templates" tab.
  4. Click "Apply template" for the desired template and then "OK" or "Applying"

Note:You can also enable the template with a FRITZ!DECT smart switch, a FRITZ!Fon (menu "Home Network > Smart Home"), in the home network and over the internet with FRITZ!App Smart Home, or enable it over the internet with MyFRITZ!App if you are using a FRITZ!Box with FRITZ!OS 7.1x or older.
