Ready for fast fiber optic connections: FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber receives additional certification from Broadband Forum

After the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber received BBF.247 certification for XGS-PON fiber optic technology at the end of last year, the new fiber model has now also been certified by the Broadband Forum (BBF) for GPON technology, which is commonly used in Germany. The successful tests confirm conformity with the important standards and thus the smooth operation of the FRITZ!Box in fiber optic networks. The FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber can be used directly at any fiber optic connection, which is a plus for users without a media converter and without an upstream provider modem. It enables transmission rates of several gigabits per second. Equipped with the new Wi-Fi 6 standard, the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber can distribute high gigabit speeds wirelessly throughout the home.  More information can be found at en.avm.de/fiber.

FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber brings Wi-Fi 6 to fiber optic connections

The FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber is not only suitable for all connections to passive optical networks (GPON, XGS-PON), but also for active networks (AON). Regardless of the connection, users benefit from super fast and extremely stable connections throughout the home. In addition, with Wi-Fi 6, the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber supports the next generation of Wi-Fi. With Wi-Fi 6, the data rates increase many times over, while response times are greatly reduced. Thanks to Mesh Wi-Fi, all wireless devices can be seamlessly and stably integrated into the home network. Working from home while other family members are studying online, starting a download or playing games is no longer an issue. Data rates of up to 2400 Mbit/s are possible in the 5 GHz band, and up to 600 Mbit/s in the 2.4 GHz band. In addition, the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber is equipped with, among other things, a fast 2.5 Gbit/s LAN port and a DECT base station for telephony and Smart Home applications. Other features and functions include a dedicated firewall, parental controls, remote access and Wi-Fi guest access, as can be expected from FRITZ!OS. Regular updates ensure new functions are added all the time. As the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber is suitable for any fiber-optic connection and users in Germany are free to choose which terminal device they use on their connection, anyone who wants to can use the new FRITZ!Box model.
