Vectoring technology reduces electromagnetic interference between adjacent copper VDSL lines. (Figure shows a 2000-pair main distributor cable) This allows significantly higher data rates of 100 Mbit/s to be achieved. To prevent crosstalk between the lines in a cable bundle, not only the devices on the DSLAM must support vectoring, but also the terminal devices in the household. All VDSL FRITZ!Box models with FRITZ!OS 6.0 or higher support vectoring.

With VDSL vectoring data rates can be increased from 50 Mbit/s to 100 Mbit/s. This is the result of a first pilot project on vectoring, in which AVM participated with the FRITZ!Box models 7390 and 7360. Since the update to FRITZ!OS 6.0, more than 150 households with a FRITZ!Box have a data rate of 100 Mbit/s at their disposal. This amounts to double the previous throughput rate of 50 Mbit/s on VDSL connections.
