FRITZ!Box reports "Network loop detected [...]"

The following messages are displayed in the event log of the FRITZ!Box:

  • "Error: Network loop detected, caused by [...] with IP address [...]"
  • "Fixed: Network loop caused by [...] with IP address [...]"

Cause

  • In the home network, devices are simultaneously connected with each other via several network connections (for example a wireless repeater that is connected to the FRITZ!Box via Wi-Fi and also network cable).
