Using FRITZ!Box on a DSL line with a static IP address

The FRITZ!Box can be used on a DSL line with a fixed ("static") public IP address. As soon as the FRITZ!Box is connected to the DSL line as a DSL router, the internet service provider automatically assigns the FRITZ!Box its static IP address when it connects to the internet.
