FRITZ!Box changes the Wi-Fi channel that was manually set
Although a specific Wi-Fi channel was set in the user interface, the FRITZ!Box switches to a different channel by itself. The following message is displayed in the event log of the FRITZ!Box:
- "A very strong source of interference was detected on channel [...]; channel switched automatically."
1 Channel change due to strong interference
The FRITZ!Box detected a source of interference on the Wi-Fi channel that was selected manually and causes severe interference to the Wi-Fi connection. The FRITZ!Box switches automatically to a Wi-Fi channel that is free of interference so that it can continue to ensure fast, stable data transmissions regardless of the settings in the user interface. When the FRITZ!Box determines that there is no more interference on the Wi-Fi channel you selected manually, it automatically switches back to it.
