FRITZ!Box changes the Wi-Fi channel that was manually set
Although a specific Wi-Fi channel was set in the user interface, the FRITZ!Box switches to a different channel by itself. The following message is displayed in the event log of the FRITZ!Box:
- "A very strong source of interference was detected on channel [...]; channel switched automatically."
1 Channel change due to strong interference
The FRITZ!Box detected a source of interference on the Wi-Fi channel that was manually set, and it strongly impairs the Wi-Fi connection. To continue to guarantee stable and fast data transmission, the FRITZ!Box automatically switches to an interference-free Wi-Fi channel, regardless of the settings in the user interface. When the FRITZ!Box determines that there is no more interference on the Wi-Fi channel you selected manually, it automatically switches back to it.
