FRITZ!Box reports "The IP address is not available"

When you try to set up port sharing in the FRITZ!Box, the following error message is displayed:

"An error occurred. Error description: The IP address is not available. Please enter your data again. If the error occurs again, please consult AVM Support."

1 IP address is located in the guest network

Port sharing cannot be configured in the FRITZ!Box for devices that are connected to the FRITZ!Box via the LAN or Wi-Fi guest network. The FRITZ!Box does not support access to devices in the guest network (factory setting: IP network 192.168.189.0, subnet mask 255.255.255.0) from the internet.

2 IP address is located in another IP network (subnet)

You cannot set up port sharing for devices that are in a downstream IP network (subnet), for example in the IP network of an additional router connected to the FRITZ!Box. The FRITZ!Box does not support setting up port sharings for devices in other IP networks.

3 A network adapter uses several IP addresses

Port sharing cannot be configured in the FRITZ!Box for devices that use multiple IP addresses with one network adapter or one MAC address. The FRITZ!Box does not support devices that use multiple IP addresses with the same MAC address (for example virtual machines with manually set MAC addresses that are used on multiple devices in the home network).
