Prioritizing a device for video conferences (Zoom, Teams)

To ensure that important video conferences with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Skype, for example, are not affected when the internet connection is being used intensively by several people, you can prioritize the internet connection of individual devices in the FRITZ!Box.

Note:You can also use MyFRITZ!App on your smartphone or tablet to prioritize internet use for individual devices.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • Prioritization is not possible when the FRITZ!Box is used as a Mesh Repeater or in IP client mode. In this case, prioritize internet access in the Mesh Master or in your router.

Note:This guide is valid for FRITZ!OS 7.50 or later. If you are using an older FRITZ!OS version, the configuration may differ or functions may not be available. You can find the FRITZ!OS version on the "Overview" page of the FRITZ!Box user interface.

Prioritizing a device

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Network" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click on the "Network Connections" tab.
  4. Click the (Edit) button next to the device you want to configure.
  5. In the "Internet Use" section, enable the option "Internet use by access profile and prioritized".
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

Now the FRITZ!Box treats the device as a prioritized device with real-time applications and gives it the highest priority for internet use of all other devices.
