Change to standard time does not work

The automatic change to standard time does not work. The FRITZ!Box and some or all of the registered cordless telephones still display daylight savings time.

Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem is solved.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Restarting the FRITZ!Box

The FRITZ!Box retrieves the time from a time server on the internet. If time synchronization has not taken place, you can manually trigger it by restarting the FRITZ!Box:

  1. Click "System" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Backup" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Restart" tab.
  4. Click the "Restart" button.

2 Switching the telephone off and on again

The cordless telephones retrieve their time from the FRITZ!Box's time server. If time synchronization has not taken place, you can manually trigger it by restarting the telephones:

  1. Switch the telephone off by holding down the end call key (red handset) and then switch it on again.

3 Configuring the FRITZ!Box

Setting the country of use

The FRITZ!Box automatically sets the times based on the country of use that is configured.

  1. Click "System" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Region and Language" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Regional Options" tab.
  4. Select your country from the drop-down list. If your country is not displayed, select "Other country".

Important:When the regional options are changed, the telephone settings (for example telephony devices, call diversion settings, dialing rules) are reset and must be reconfigured.

  5. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

Setting the time zone

  1. Click "System" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Region and Language" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Time Zone" tab.
  4. If you are using the FRITZ!Box in a country with one time zone and the country is configured under "Region", disable the option "Set the time zone manually". From now on, the FRITZ!Box will set daylight saving time and standard time automatically.
  5. If "Other country" is selected as the country of use in the FRITZ!Box or you are using the FRITZ!Box in a time zone that differs from the configured country of use (for example in the Azores or Canary Islands), configure the time zone manually:
    1. Enable the "Set the time zone manually" option.
    2. From the drop-down list, select the difference between your time zone and GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) in hours.

      Example:
You are using your FRITZ!Box in the Azores (Portugal). Select "GMT -1 hour" from the drop-down list to manually set the time zone in the FRITZ!Box..

    3. If you are using the FRITZ!Box in a region with daylight savings time and standard time, you must enable the option "adjust to daylight savings time automatically" when daylight saving time starts and disable it again when standard time starts.
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
