Configuring online storage in the FRITZ!Box

An online storage is a virtual hard drive on the internet where you can securely store photos, music, and other files that you can access at any time from the internet.

Using an online storage with the FRITZ!Box offers the following advantages:

  • All of the computers in the FRITZ!Box home network can access the online storage like a local drive.
  • The access information for the online storage is permanently stored in the FRITZ!Box.
  • Time-consuming uploads of large volumes of data are also possible when computers are switched off, as data is first temporarily saved on the USB storage device connected to the FRITZ!Box. Therefore, it can still be uploaded to the online storage even when the computer is switched off.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • You can only configure one online storage in the FRITZ!Box. The online storage must support the WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) protocol. Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive do not support WebDAV.
  • A USB storage device with sufficient storage space must be connected to the FRITZ!Box. The amount of available storage space must equal at least the volume of data to be copied to or from the online storage.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
