The FRITZ!Box cannot be used as a simple modem or in so-called bridge mode. If it were used as a simple modem, the telephony and television services provided together with internet access on many internet connections could no longer be used. The majority of the FRITZ!Box functions would also no longer be usable.

If your internet service provider allows you to establish several parallel internet connections, you can enable the PPPoE passthrough function in the FRITZ!Box. This allows computers our routers connected to the FRITZ!Box to establish additional PPPoE internet connections with their own account information.
