Using a telephone to send keypad sequences to a telephony provider

You can use keypad sequences (character and number sequences, for example *50#) to activate and configure services offered by your telephony provider (for example network mailbox, call diversion) in the provider's exchange.

1 Sending a keypad sequence

  1. Enter *#[keypad sequence] (for example *#*50#) on your telephone. The telephone must be configured to make calls using the telephone number for which you want to set up the service via keypad sequence.

    Example:
To send the keypad sequence *50#, enter *#*50# on your telephone. To send this sequence using the second internet telephone number, enter *122#*#*50# on the telephone.

  2. Press the call key (pick up the handset).
  3. Hang up again.

Note:Many telephones have a character limit. For example, FRITZ!Fon allows you to enter a maximum of 22 characters. If you save the keypad sequence in the FRITZ!Box telephone book, the sequence is immediately available if needed and the length of the sequence is not limited.
