Setting up MyFRITZ!App for Android

With MyFRITZ!App for Android you have easy and secure access to your FRITZ!Box and your home network at home or on the go. Depending on the FRITZ!Box model being used,

  • the app informs you about calls, voice messages, and other events.
  • you can enable and disable the FRITZ!Box answering machine and call diversions.
  • you can quickly block and unblock internet access for individual devices in the home network.
  • you can access FRITZ!NAS to upload and download files, or play multimedia content such as photos or music.
  • you can control your smart home devices (for example FRITZ!DECT 200) and check the power consumption of the devices connected to them.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • FRITZ!OS 6.50 or later is installed on the FRITZ!Box. FRITZ!OS 7.29 or later is required to use the full range of functions.
  • Android 9 or later is installed on the smartphone or tablet.
  • For VPN connections, the FRITZ!Box must either obtain an IPv6 address (starting with FRITZ!OS 7.50) or a public IPv4 address from the internet service provider.

1 Configuring the FRITZ!Box to allow access for applications

In the factory settings, the FRITZ!Box is configured to allow applications to access it. If you changed the FRITZ!Box's settings, grant applications access to the FRITZ!Box again:

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Network" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click on the "Network Settings" tab.
  4. If available, click "Additional Settings" in the section "WAN setting" or "LAN Settings" to display all of the settings.
  5. Enable the option "Allow access for applications" in the section "Access Settings in the Home Network".
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

2 Setting up a Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Box

When setting up the app, the smartphone or tablet must be connected with the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi network (not the guest network):

3 Installing MyFRITZ!App

  1. Download MyFRITZ!App from the Google Play Store and install the app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Start MyFRITZ!App.
  3. Enter the FRITZ!Box password. If you are asked to enter a username and password, enter the account information of a FRITZ!Box user who is authorized to access FRITZ!Box settings.

    Note:You can edit the account information and access rights of users under "System > FRITZ!Box Users" in the user interface.

  4. Tap the "Save" button to complete the configuration.

4 Configuring MyFRITZ! Internet Access
