FRITZ!WLAN Repeater DVB-C

Watching TV via SAT>IP

Starting with FRITZ!OS 7, the FRITZ!Repeater supports the Sat over IP technology (SAT>IP). Some manufacturers refer to SAT>IP as "DVB over IP", "SAT to IP" or "TV>IP".

After setting up television reception in the FRITZ!Repeater, as a SAT>IP server the FRITZ!Repeater converts digital television signals into IP packets and makes them available as a stream in the home network. Televisions with SAT>IP support, for example from Panasonic and Loewe, can access the repeater's tuners as SAT>IP clients and also play encrypted content with a corresponding smart card. For this, you must only select the repeater as the SAT>IP server in the television and then search for channels. The television determines which elements the stream contains, for example subtitles, EPG. It is not necessary to change any settings in the FRITZ!Repeater.
