Forgot password for the user interface of the FRITZ!Smart Gateway
You can protect the user interface of your FRITZ!Smart Gateway against unauthorized access with a password. If you changed the default password on the back of the FRITZ!Smart Gateway and forgot the new password, reset the password or load the FRITZ!Smart Gateway's factory settings. Then you can log in again and set a new password.
1 Resetting the password
If you are offered the option of sending a push service mail, have an email with a link to access the user interface sent to you that you can use to reset the password:
- Open the user interface of the FRITZ!Smart Gateway.
- Click the "Forgot your password?" link.
- Click the "Send push service mail" button. If the button is not displayed, the "forgot password" push service is not configured.
- Call up the email with the same device you used to request the push service mail and follow the instructions in the email. If you did not receive an email, either the email account information for the push service was entered incorrectly, or the FRITZ!Smart Gateway is not connected to the internet.
Important:The email may have been classified as unsolicited advertising (spam). In this case, also check the spam folder of your email inbox.
2 Loading the factory settings and reconfiguring the FRITZ!Smart Gateway
If you are not offered the option of sending a push service mail or you did not receive the push service mail, you cannot open the user interface again until you load the factory settings:
Loading the factory settings
- Plug the FRITZ!Smart Gateway into an outlet and wait until the Connect LED remains lit or the Connect LED starts flashing orange.
- Push and hold down the Connect button for about 15 seconds until the Connect LED briefly goes out.
- Now all of the LEDs light up red once and the Connect LED indicates by alternately flashing and lighting up that the factory settings are being loaded and that the FRITZ!Smart Gateway is being restarted. This process may take several minutes.
- The Connect LED continuously blinks slowly for at least 1 minute as soon as the factory settings have finished loading.
