FRITZ!Fon does not turn on
The FRITZ!Fon does not turn on anymore. When you try to turn the telephone on, the message key and end call key light up red, but the display remains black and the telephone does not work.
Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem is solved.
1 Charging the rechargeable battery
- Plug in the charging station. Make sure that both plugs on the charging cable are inserted correctly.
- Leave the telephone in the charging station for at least 6 hours to fully charge the telephone's rechargeable battery. Make sure that the telephone is placed correctly in the charging station.
2 Checking the battery
The FRITZ!Fon's rechargeable battery may be defective. There are two different ways to check the battery:
Testing a different rechargeable battery
If you have another FRITZ!Fon with the same type of rechargeable battery, try using the other battery for testing purposes:
- Fully charge the other rechargeable battery and insert the battery into the telephone.
If you can switch the telephone on now, the other rechargeable battery is defective.
Switching on in charging station while battery is removed
- Remove the rechargeable battery from the telephone.
- Place the telephone into the charging station without its rechargeable battery.
If the telephone starts while in the charging station, the rechargeable battery is defective.
3 Replacing the rechargeable battery
You can purchase a genuine replacement battery from an electronics retailer. Using so-called aftermarket batteries that are not originals, such as can be found online, may damage your FRITZ!Fon.
Important:Rechargeable batteries wear out because they are subject to a technology-related aging process and are therefore not covered by the warranty (see warranty in the manual).
