Network devices are not displayed over a VPN connection
Although a VPN connection is established, computers, NAS systems, and other devices in a remote FRITZ!Box network are not displayed (for example in the Windows Explorer under "Network").
Devices cannot be displayed automatically
Operating systems like Windows or macOS cannot automatically detect and display computers and other devices in remote networks. The mechanisms that operating systems use to automatically detect devices and display their names only work within local networks (LAN), and therefore not in a VPN.
Note:To access shared files, you can contact the devices in the remote FRITZ!Box network at their IP addresses.
