Using an Android smartphone or tablet in the FRITZ! home network

You can easily connect an Android smartphone or tablet to the Wi-Fi network of the FRITZ!Box by scanning the QR code "Wi-Fi access" on the type label of the FRITZ!Box with the device's camera. Then the device can access the internet connection, FRITZ!NAS, and the FRITZ!Box media server, and use numerous other functions of the FRITZ!Box with our FRITZ!Apps.

1 Connecting the smartphone or tablet with the home network

  1. Open the "Settings" on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Tap "Network & Internet" in the "Settings".
  3. Tap "Internet".
  4. If Wi-Fi is switched off, tap the "On / Off" symbol.
  5. In the section "Wi-Fi", tap "Add Wi-Fi" and then the QR code symbol . If the QR code is not displayed, you can also scan the QR code with FRITZ!App Wi-Fi.
  6. Point the camera at the QR code for Wi-Fi access on the FRITZ!Box's type label. If there is no QR code for Wi-Fi access printed on the type label or you changed the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi settings, use the QR code under "Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Channel" ("Wireless > Radio Network") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
