Setting up FRITZ!Box for use with an Enegan line

The FRITZ!Box is optimally prepared for use with Enegan. Simply connect the FRITZ!Box to the DSL line and enter your personal account information in the FRITZ!Box user interface. The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, telephony, and multimedia is then available to all of the devices in your home network without restriction.

1 Having your account information ready

  1. Have your personal account information for internet access and the login information for telephony that you received from Enegan ready.

Note:Enegan sent you the account information via email after you concluded the contract with them. If you did not receive your account information, contact Enegan.

2 Connecting the FRITZ!Box

  1. Insert the DSL cable (Y cable) into the "DSL" socket on the FRITZ!Box.
  2. Insert one of the shorter ends of the cable into the DSL socket and leave the other end of the cable hanging (see left fig.). If you are using the FRITZ!Box on a VDSL bonding line, also insert the second end of the cable into the VDSL bonding socket (see right fig.).

3 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Click "Internet" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Account Information" in the "Internet" menu.
  3. Select "Enegan" from the drop-down list "Internet service provider". If you cannot select Enegan:
    1. Select "other internet service provider" from the drop-down list.
    2. Enable the option "Connection to a DSL line" in the "Connect via" area.
  4. Enter the account information you received from Enegan in the relevant fields.
  5. If you selected the entry "other internet service provider", click "Change Connection Settings", enable the option "Use VLAN for internet access", and enter 835 in the field "VLAN ID".
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

Now the FRITZ!Box checks whether an internet connection can be established with the account information you entered. Configuration is completed as soon as the message "The internet connection check was successful" is displayed.

Important:If the internet connection check fails, your internet access may not have been activated yet. In this case, contact Enegan.
