Setting up FRITZ!Box for use with a DIGI line

To use the FRITZ!Box with DIGI, simply connect it to the fiber optic modem from DIGI and configure the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box. The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, multimedia, and smart home is then available to all of the devices in your home network without restriction.

Important:Currently, we do not have any information about how to use DIGI's telephony function with the FRITZ!Box. As soon as we find out, we will update this guide.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Asking for account information

  1. Call DIGI's customer service and ask for
    1. the username and password for internet access ("Usuario PPPoE", "Contraseña PPPoE").
    2. the VLAN ID and PBit for the internet connection (DIGI normally uses VLAN ID 20 and PBit 0).

2 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Enter the FRITZ!Box password given on the type label of the FRITZ!Box and click "Log In".
  3. Click "Internet" and then "Account Information".
  4. Select "other internet service provider" from the drop-down list.
  5. Enable the option "Connection to an external modem or router" in the "Connected via" section.
  6. Enable the option "Establish own connection to the internet" in the section "Operating Mode".
  7. Enter the account information you received from DIGI in the relevant fields.
  8. Enter the speeds of your internet connection in the "Downstream" and "Upstream" fields.
  9. Click "Change connection settings".
  10. Enable the option "Use VLAN for internet access".
  11. In the fields "VLAN ID" und "PBit", enter the data provided by DIGI.
  12. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
  13. Now the FRITZ!Box checks whether the internet connection can be established. Configuration is complete as soon as the message "The internet connection check was successful" is displayed.

    Important:If the internet connection check fails, your internet access may not have been activated yet. In this case, contact DIGI.
