The FRITZ!Box cannot be used as a simple DSL modem because the majority of the FRITZ!Box functions could not be used then. It would also no longer be possible to use the telephony functions and television service included in internet packages offered with many DSL lines. Therefore, configure the FRITZ!Box for operation as a DSL router.

If your internet service provider allows you to establish several parallel internet connections, you can enable the PPPoE passthrough function in the FRITZ!Box. This allows computers our routers connected to the FRITZ!Box to establish additional PPPoE internet connections with their own account information.
