Setting up FRITZ!Box for use with an Adamo line

To use the FRITZ!Box with Adamo, simply connect it to the fiber optic modem from Adamo and configure the internet connection and telephony in the FRITZ!Box. The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, telephony, and multimedia is then available to all of the devices in your home network without restriction.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Connecting the FRITZ!Box

  1. Insert one end of a network cable into the "LAN 1" port on the FRITZ!Box. Use the network cable supplied with the FRITZ!Box, for example.
  2. Insert the other end of the network cable into the LAN port on the fiber optic modem (ONT, Optical Network Termination).

2 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Click "Internet" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  1. Click "Account Information" in the "Internet" menu.
  2. Select "other internet service provider" from the drop-down list.
  3. Enable the option "Connection to an external modem or router" in the "Connect via" area.
  4. Enable the option "Establish own connection to the internet" in the section "Operating Mode".
  5. Enable the option "No" in the section "Account Information".
  6. Enter the speeds of your internet connection in the "Downstream" and "Upstream" fields.
  7. Click "Change connection settings".
  8. Enable the option "Use VLAN for internet access".
  9. Enter 603 in the field "VLAN ID" and 1 in the field "PBit". If you cannot establish an internet connection with VLAN ID 603, enter 604 in the field "VLAN ID".
  10. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
  11. Now the FRITZ!Box checks whether the internet connection can be established. Configuration is completed as soon as the message "The internet connection check was successful" is displayed.

    Important:If the internet connection check fails, your internet access may not have been activated yet. In this case, contact Adamo.

3 Setting up telephony in the FRITZ!Box

Requesting login information for telephony

  1. Contact Adamo's customer service to have them give you the login information for telephony (for example the username and password).

Entering the VLAN ID for internet telephony

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephone Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click on the "Line Settings" tab.
  4. Click "Changing the Settings" in the "Telephony connection" section.
  5. Click "Connection Settings for DSL/WAN".
  6. Enable the option "VLAN required for internet telephony".
  7. Enter 630 in the field "VLAN ID".
  8. Enter 7 in the field "PBit".
  9. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

Configuring telephone numbers

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephone Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the "New Telephone Number" button.
  4. If shown, enable the option "Internet telephone number" and click "Next".
  5. Select "Other provider" from the drop-down list.
  6. Enter your telephone number without +34 (for example 911234567) by "Telephone number for registration" and "Internal telephone number in the FRITZ!Box".
  7. Enter the login information you received from Adamo by "Username" and "Password".
  8. Enter voip.adamo.es in the field "Registrar".
  9. Click "Next" and follow the wizard's instructions.
