Setting up FRITZ!Box for use with a SNLR line

The FRITZ!Box is optimally prepared for use with SNLR. Simply connect the FRITZ!Box to the fiber optic modem, select SNLR as the internet service provider in the FRITZ!Box, and configure telephony. The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, telephony, and smart home is then available to all of the devices in your home network without restriction.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Connecting the FRITZ!Box

  1. Insert one end of a network cable into the "LAN 1" port on the FRITZ!Box. Use the network cable supplied with the FRITZ!Box, for example.
  2. Insert the other end of the network cable into the LAN port on the fiber optic modem (ONT, Optical Network Termination).

2 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. If the FRITZ!Box is set to factory settings, set a password for accessing the user interface and click "OK" and then "Next".

  3. If the wizard for internet access does not start automatically, click "Wizards" and then "Configure the Internet Connection".

  4. Select "SNLR" from the drop-down list.
  5. Click "Next" and follow the wizard's instructions.
  6. Now the FRITZ!Box checks whether the internet connection can be established. Configuration is complete as soon as the message "The internet connection check was successful" is displayed.

    Important:If the internet connection check fails, your internet access may not have been activated yet. In this case, contact SNLR.

3 Setting up telephony in the FRITZ!Box

Having your login information ready

  1. Have the login information for telephony that you received from SNLR ready.

    Note:If you did not receive any login information, you can ask SNLR for it.

Configuring telephone numbers

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephone Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the "New Telephone Number" button.
  4. Select "Other provider" from the drop-down list.
  5. Enter your telephone number including the area code (for example 31201234567) by "Telephone number for registration".
  6. Enter your telephone number (for example 1234567) by "Internal telephone number in the FRITZ!Box".
  7. Enter your telephone number including the area code (for example 31201234567) by "Username".
  8. For the "Password", enter the password you received from SNLR.
  9. Enter sip.snlr.nl in the field "Registrar".
  10. Enter your area code by "Area code".
  11. Click "Next" and follow the wizard's instructions.

Assigning telephone numbers

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephony Devices" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the (Edit) button for the respective telephony device.

    Important:If the telephony device was not configured yet, click the "Configure New Device" button and follow the wizard's instructions.

  4. From the drop-down list "Outgoing Calls", select the number to be used by the telephony device for making outgoing calls. If you do not select a telephone number, the number entered under "Telephony > Telephone Numbers > Line Settings" is used for making calls.
  5. Select the telephone numbers to which the telephony device should react when you receive calls. You can select up to ten numbers (including the number for outgoing calls).
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
