Changing the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID) of the FRITZ!Box
You can easily change the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi network name and give your Wi-Fi a unique name.
When you change the Wi-Fi network name, note that you must then reconfigure the Wi-Fi connection on all of the wireless devices.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
1 Changing the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID)
- Click "Wi-Fi" ("Wireless") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Wi-Fi Network" ("Radio Network") in the "Wi-Fi" ("Wireless") menu.
- Enter the same unique name in the fields "Name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID)" for the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks. If only one field is displayed, enable the Advanced View first.
- Click "Apply" to save the settings. All Wi-Fi connections to the FRITZ!Box are cleared when the new Wi-Fi network name is adopted. You must then reconfigure the Wi-Fi connections to the FRITZ!Box.
