Setting up FRITZ!Box for use with an EOLO line

The FRITZ!Box is optimally prepared for use with EOLO. Simply connect the FRITZ!Box to the internet connection and enter your personal account information in the FRITZ!Box user interface. The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, telephony, and multimedia is then available to all of the devices in your home network without restriction.

1 Having your account information ready

  1. Have your personal account information for internet access and the login information for telephony ready:
    1. The account information for internet access is in the email that EOLO sent you after you concluded the contract with them.
    2. You can call EOLO's customer service and ask them to give you the login information for telephony, for example the username and password.

2 Connecting the FRITZ!Box

  1. Use the "WAN" port to connect the FRITZ!Box with the internet connection from EOLO.

3 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Enter the FRITZ!Box password given on the type label of the FRITZ!Box and click "Log In".
  3. If the wizard for internet access does not start automatically, click "Wizards" and then "Configure the Internet Connection".

  4. Enable the option "Use DSL/WAN for internet connection".
  5. Select "EOLO" from the drop-down list.
  6. Click "Next" and follow the wizard's instructions.
  7. Now the FRITZ!Box checks whether the internet connection can be established. Configuration is complete as soon as the message "The internet connection check was successful" is displayed.

    Important:If the internet connection check fails, your internet access may not have been activated yet. In this case, contact EOLO.

4 Setting up telephony in the FRITZ!Box

Configuring telephone numbers

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephone Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the "New Telephone Number" button.
  4. If shown, enable the option "Internet telephone number" and click "Next".
  5. Select "Other provider" from the drop-down list.
  6. Enter your telephone number without +39 (for example 061234567) by "Telephone number for registration" and "Internal telephone number in the FRITZ!Box".
  7. Enter the login information you received from EOLO by "Username" and "Password".
  8. Enter voce.eolo.it in the field "Registrar".
  9. Enter voce.eolo.it in the "Proxy server" field.
  10. Click "Additional Settings" to display all of the settings.
  11. Select "RTP or in-band" for "DTMF transmission".
  12. Click "Next" and follow the wizard's instructions.

Assigning telephone numbers

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephony Devices" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the (Edit) button for the respective telephony device.

    Important:If the telephony device was not configured yet, click the "Configure New Device" button and follow the wizard's instructions.

  4. From the drop-down list "Outgoing Calls", select the number to be used by the telephony device for making outgoing calls. If you do not select a telephone number, the number entered under "Telephony > Telephone Numbers > Line Settings" is used for making calls.
  5. Select the telephone numbers to which the telephony device should react when you receive calls. You can select up to ten numbers (including the number for outgoing calls).
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
