Using roller shutter motors in the FRITZ! home network

In your FRITZ! home network you can register roller shutter motors from other manufacturers that use the DECT ULE/HAN FUN or Zigbee standard. Roller shutter motors from the German manufacturers "BoxCTRL" (Becker) and "RolloTron DECT" (Home Pilot) are perfectly suited for use with the FRITZ!Box.

You can then easily operate your roller shutters using the smart home functions of the FRITZ!Box. For example you can configure automatic switching to automatically open the shutters in the morning and automatically close them in the hot midday sun. During vacation you can also use flexible controls in order to simulate being home by automatically opening and shutting the roller shutters, perhaps combined with smart lighting control.

1 Using roller shutter motors according to the DECT ULE/HAN FUN standard

You can register roller shutter motors that support the standard DECT ULE/HAN FUN directly with your FRITZ!Box.

  1. Click "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Devices and Groups" in the "Smart Home" menu.
  3. Click the "Register another Smart Home device" button and follow the wizard's instructions.
  4. As soon as the roller shutter motor is successfully registered, it is displayed in the FRITZ!Box user interface under "Devices and Groups" and can be configured there.

2 Registering roller shutter motors according to the Zigbee standard

If you are using a FRITZ!Box model without Zigbee support, a FRITZ!Smart Gateway is required to use a roller shutter motor according to the Zigbee standard, for example from IKEA. The roller shutter motor must also be compatible with the FRITZ!Smart Gateway in order to register it:

The roller shutter motor is now set up and you can switch and control it in the home network and from anywhere over the internet.
