Transferring settings to a new FRITZ!Box

The wizard for easy FRITZ!Box switching helps you to move your FRITZ! products to a new FRITZ!Box and configures the new FRITZ!Box for your previous home network devices, apps, and the MyFRITZ! service.

Transferring settings from one FRITZ!Box to another

All current FRITZ! products that were registered with the old FRITZ!Box will be automatically connected to the new FRITZ!Box. If you use MyFRITZ!, the MyFRITZ! address of the old FRITZ!Box is also transferred to the new FRITZ!Box. All previously used FRITZ!Apps can be used with the new FRITZ!Box without having to re-register or reconfigure them.

During the transfer process, the wizard checks whether a FRITZ!OS update is available for the new FRITZ!Box. If FRITZ!OS earlier than 7.56 is installed on the new FRITZ!Box, the wizard will update the FRITZ!Box. Once the settings have been transferred, the wizard loads the factory settings of the old FRITZ!Box.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • FRITZ!OS 7.56 or later is installed on the old FRITZ!Box and FRITZ!OS 7.56 or later is available for the new FRITZ!Box.
  • The wizard must be run locally in the FRITZ!Box home network.
  • It is not possible to use the wizard when the FRITZ!Box is used as a Mesh Repeater or in IP client mode.
