Internet telephone numbers cannot be entered or edited
It is not possible to set up new internet telephone numbers, delete telephone numbers that are entered, or edit the settings of the telephone numbers.
Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem is solved.
1 Maximum number has been reached
A maximum of 20 internet telephone numbers can be entered in the FRITZ!Box. If 20 internet telephone numbers were already configured, you cannot set up any more internet telephone numbers.
2 Reconfiguring telephone numbers
The following steps are only necessary if you imported the telephone numbers to a new FRITZ!Box using a backup file and the telephone numbers cannot be edited or deleted. Telephone numbers that are automatically configured by the provider cannot be imported into a new FRITZ!Box:
Saving settings
- Click "System" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Backup" in the "System" menu.
- Click on the "Save" tab.
- Enter a password.
- Click "Save" and confirm that the procedure may be executed on the FRITZ!Box, if asked to do so.
- Save the file "FRITZ.Box[...].export" on your computer.
Loading the factory settings
- Load the FRITZ!Box's factory settings.
Restoring settings
Now you can restore all of the settings except for the telephony settings. Afterwards, you must manually reconfigure the telephony functions:
- Click "System" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Backup" in the "System" menu.
- Click on the "Restore" tab.
- Click the "Browse..." or "Choose File" button.
- Select the file "FRITZ.Box[...].export" with the settings you want to restore.
- Enter the password you entered when saving the file.
- Enable the option "Select manually the settings to be restored".
- Click the "Restore" button and on the FRITZ!Box, confirm that the procedure may be executed if asked to do so.
- Enable the option "Select all settings".
- Disable the option "Overwrite all telephone numbers and telephony settings".
- Click "Apply".
3 Only the provider can make changes
With some providers, the telephone numbers are automatically configured in the FRITZ!Box when the internet connection is configured. With these providers, it is not possible to later change the settings for telephone numbers that were configured automatically or enter additional telephone numbers in the FRITZ!Box.
