Preventing push service mails "Change notice: Home network" from being sent for known network devices

Every time the FRITZ!Box is restarted, an email with the subject line "Change notice: Home network" is sent if computers, tablets, smartphones, or other network devices that do not have individual settings connect to the FRITZ!Box.

You can prevent these emails from being sent by assigning unique names to all of the network devices that are always used in your home network. After the FRITZ!Box is restarted, no more emails will be sent for these network devices.

Note:This guide is valid for FRITZ!OS 7.50 or later. If you are using an older FRITZ!OS version, the configuration may differ or functions may not be available. You can find the FRITZ!OS version on the "Overview" page of the FRITZ!Box user interface.

Giving unique names to network devices in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Network" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click on the "Network Connections" tab.
  4. Click the (Edit) button for the respective network device.
  5. In the "Name" field, enter a name that differs from the default name assigned by the operating system.
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
  7. Repeat steps 3 - 6 for all other network devices you no longer want to receive change notices for.
