Setting up MyFRITZ!App for iOS
With MyFRITZ!App for iOS you can easily and securely access your FRITZ!Box when you are at home or on the go. This way you can
- check calls, voice messages, and other events.
- enable and disable the FRITZ!Box answering machine and call diversions.
- quickly prioritize, block, or unblock internet access for individual devices in the home network.
- access FRITZ!NAS to download files, upload photos or videos, or play multimedia content such as photos or music.
You can also use MyFRITZ!App to access several FRITZ!Boxes. To do so, you only have to register MyFRITZ!App once with each FRITZ!Box as described here.
Requirements / Restrictions
- Apple iOS 12.4 or later is installed on the smartphone or tablet.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
1 Preparations
Setting up a Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Box
When setting up the app, the smartphone or tablet must be connected with the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi network (not the guest network):
- Set up the Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Box.
Configuring the FRITZ!Box to allow access for applications
In the factory settings, the FRITZ!Box is configured to allow applications to access it. If you changed the FRITZ!Box's settings, grant applications access to the FRITZ!Box again:
- Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Network" in the "Home Network" menu.
- Click on the "Network Settings" tab.
- If available, click "Additional Settings" in the section "WAN setting" or "LAN Settings" to display all of the settings.
- Enable the option "Allow access for applications" in the section "Access Settings in the Home Network".
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.
Disabling the VPN connection
When setting up the app, no VPN connection (for example NordVPN) and no comparable internet anonymization services (for example Apple iCloud Private Relay) may be active on the smartphone or tablet:
- Disable all of the VPN connections on the mobile device.
2 Installing MyFRITZ!App
- Install MyFRITZ!App from the Apple App Store on your smartphone or tablet.
- Start MyFRITZ!App.
- Enter the FRITZ!Box password. If you are asked to enter a username and password, enter the account information of a FRITZ!Box user who is authorized to access FRITZ!Box settings.
Note:You can edit the account information and access rights of users under "System > FRITZ!Box Users" in the user interface.
- Tap the "Save" button to complete the configuration.
3 Configuring MyFRITZ! Internet Access
If you want to use MyFRITZ!App to access the user interface of your FRITZ!Box from the internet, set up your FRITZ!Box for internet access via MyFRITZ!Net!:
4 Configuring further FRITZ!Boxes in MyFRITZ!App
The following steps are only necessary if you want to access several FRITZ!Boxes with MyFRITZ!App:
- Connect your smartphone or tablet to the Wi-Fi network of the FRITZ!Box that you want to set up in MyFRITZ!App.
- Start MyFRITZ!App.
- In MyFRITZ!App, tap the gear symbol on the top left.
- Tap "Add another FRITZ!Box".
- Select the FRITZ!Box with which you want to connect MyFRITZ!App.
- Enter the FRITZ!Box password. If you are asked to enter a username and password, enter the account information of a FRITZ!Box user who is authorized to access FRITZ!Box settings.
Note:You can edit the account information and access rights of users under "System > FRITZ!Box Users" in the user interface.
- Tap the "Save" button to complete the configuration.
From now on, MyFRITZ!App, connects with the last FRITZ!Box it was connected with when you start it. Use the "Settings" menu to switch between FRITZ!Boxes configured in MyFRITZ!App.
