DECT connection drops frequently
The DECT connection between a cordless telephone and the FRITZ!Box is frequently lost. The message "Search for base" is shown on the telephone's display.
Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem is solved.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
1 Installing the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box
- Install the latest FRITZ!OS on the FRITZ!Box.
2 Installing the latest software for your telephone
The following steps are only necessary if you are using a FRITZ!Fon:
- Install the latest software on the telephone.
3 Recharging the telephone battery
- Fully charge the telephone battery. Leave the telephone in the charging station for at least 12 hours.
4 Configuring the FRITZ!Box
Disabling "Reduce DECT field strength"
- Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "DECT" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Disable the option "Reduce DECT field strength" in the section "Radio Field Strength".
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.
Disabling "DECT Eco"
- Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "DECT" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Disable the option "DECT Eco" in the section "Radio Field Strength".
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.
5 Turning off other base stations
- For testing purposes, switch off other base stations in the vicinity of the FRITZ!Box.
- If the problem no longer occurs then, switch off the other base station or place the base station farther away from the FRITZ!Box.
