Configuring a network device to automatically obtain IP settings (DHCP)

All of the computers, smartphones, and other network devices connected to the FRITZ!Box need special IP settings automatically assigned by the FRITZ!Box's DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server to communicate with the FRITZ!Box. For this, the device's IP settings must be configured to automatically obtain IP settings (DHCP client).

Important:If the FRITZ!Box uses the Internet connection of another router ("Internet connection via Internet router as IP client"), the DHCP server of the FRITZ!Box is disabled. In this case, the upstream router must assign the necessary IP settings to the devices.
