Saving and restoring the FRITZ!Box telephone book
The FRITZ!Box user interface allows you to save your telephone book. Then you can always use the backup to restore your telephone book, which means you are protected against data loss. The telephone book can also be transferred from one FRITZ!Box to another, for example if you switch to a different FRITZ!Box model.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
1 Saving the telephone book
- Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Telephone Book" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Click the "Save" button and save the telephone book as an XML file on your computer.
2 Restoring the telephone book
- Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Telephone Book" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Click the "Restore" button. When you restore, all of the existing telephone book entries are overwritten.
- Click the "Browse..." or "Choose File" button and select the file (*.XML) with the telephone book you saved.
- Click the "Restore Telephone Book" button.
