Watching TV with FRITZ!App TV

With FRITZ!App TV your smartphones and tablets can play the TV stream of public broadcasters while at home or on the go and, when used in combination with a FRITZ!Box Cable, you can also watch the unencrypted television channels included in your cable package in your FRITZ!Box home network.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • iOS 15 or later or Android 9 or later is installed on the smartphone or tablet.

1 Configuring the repeater for television reception

To take advantage of your cable provider's TV package in the FRITZ! home network, configure television reception in the FRITZ!Box Cable first:

  1. Click "DVB-C" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Channel Search" in the "DVB-C" menu.
  3. Click the "Start Channel Search" button.

2 Installing FRITZ!App TV

  1. Download FRITZ!App TV from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and install the app on your smartphone or tablet.

3 Using FRITZ!App TV

  1. Tap a station name or its logo to play it.
  2. To change the station, swipe left or right on the screen, or tap the button on the left-hand or right-hand corner of the screen.
  3. To end playback and return to the channel list, tap the playback window and then the arrow next to the channel name.
  4. To display program information in full screen mode, tap the playback window first and then tap the arrow icon next to the name of the program at the bottom of the screen. Program information is not available with online TV.
