FRITZ!Box 6860 5G: Lightning fast 5G internet for the home — indoors and outdoors

With the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G, which is available from today, AVM is offering a solution for fast mobile internet with a Wi-Fi hotspot and telephony that can be used both indoors and outdoors. Thanks to the latest 5G technology, robust design and versatile networking options, it meets the highest demands of private and business users. The fixed wireless-access device supports both 5G (NSA, SA) and LTE and achieves data throughput rates of up to 1.3 gigabits per second. With powerful Mesh Wi‑Fi based on the Wi‑Fi 6 standard, it can distribute data throughout the home. In addition, the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G is equipped with a DECT base station for telephony and smart home and supports Voice over LTE and Voice over New Radio. Thanks to its compact housing and the power and data supply via Power over Ethernet (PoE), the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G can be flexibly placed anywhere in users' homes, on a wall or window, and even outside.

Future-proof and for all mobile standards

The FRITZ!Box 6860 5G supports both 5G standalone (SA) and 5G non-standalone (NSA), as well as the common mobile standards 4G and 3G. By supporting numerous mobile network frequencies, including future frequencies (n75, n76, n77), it is well prepared for future network requirements. Thanks to four built-in mobile antennas, fast and stable connections are guaranteed on all supported frequencies.

A powerful home network with Wi-Fi 6 and gigabit LAN

The FRITZ!Box optimally distributes 5G and 4G data throughput of up to 1.3 Gbit/s in the home network via long-range Wi-Fi 6 technology. Additional devices can be connected via the integrated gigabit LAN port. The Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) power adapter that comes in the box also provides power, while a nano-SIM slot enables flexible mobile phone use.

Integrated telephony and smart home features

The FRITZ!Box 6860 5G offers a range of telephony features: Up to six cordless telephones and ten IP telephones can be used via the internal SIP registrar. Telephony is carried out via the mobile number of the SIM card using VoLTE/VoNR or alternatively via VoIP/SIP. Up to five answering machines, a fax machine and SMS are integrated. Messages can be forwarded by email. Even door intercom systems can be connected via DECT or IP/SIP. A number of other smart home devices, such as the smart plugs or smart radiator controls from FRITZ! can also be integrated via DECT.

A weatherproof design for flexible outdoor use

The compact and robust design of the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G's housing is impressive. It was specially developed for flexible use both indoors and outdoors. For outdoor use, the IP54 certification ensures protection against splashing water, which makes the FRITZ!Box particularly resistant to weather effects. Two router brackets (red for inside, white for outside) mean the router can be easily adapted to the location of use.

Optimum networking, even in difficult reception conditions

The FRITZ!Box 6860 5G allows users to align perfectly to the mobile network, supported by a practical alignment aid and LEDs that display both the signal strength and the current connection status (5G, 4G or Wi-Fi). When installed outdoors, the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G can be combined with a FRITZ!Repeater or the FRITZ!Box 4050, for example, using the LAN port on the included PoE power adapter to improve Wi-Fi and DECT coverage indoors.
