Who is sucking up the most data? Online Monitor displays load for individual devices
The new Online Monitor informs users about the load on the internet connection by individual network devices in the home and guest networks. Users can also compare the data traffic of various network devices, allowing them to optimally distribute the data rate.
Mesh Overview: Identify devices in the home network
With FRITZ!OS 8 you can assign recognizable names and symbols to devices in the home network and in the guest network, directly in the Mesh Overview. Clicking on the tooltip opens more details on the LAN connections between individual FRITZ! devices.
A new graph of Wi-Fi use in the home network
When is the Wi-Fi in the home network used most intensively? With the new graph of the load on the Wi-fi network, users can now optimize Wi-Fi use in the home network.
Fast and secure VPN with WireGuard – now also for IPv6 connections
The secure WireGuard VPN tunnel now also supports the transmission of IPv6 data, making it even easier to set up secure connections to the FRITZ!Box home network. FRITZ!OS 8 thus provides additional security for when working from home or via remote access. With the WireGuard Wizard, encrypted connections can be quickly set up on smartphones, notebooks or PCs using a QR code or software.
Smart home: new options with scenes and routines
FRITZ!OS 8 comes with several new smart home features: On the device page of the FRITZ!Smart Control 350 door-window contact in the FRITZ!Box user interface, window open detection can now be set up for selected radiator controls. In addition, the new templates allow users to set the target temperature for radiator controls and the brightness, saturation and color for lights, as well as adjust the position of roller shutters in percentages. Furthermore, the temperature settings for radiator controls can now be restricted to a minimum and maximum temperature. Routines can now also be triggered by a preset time or a time relative to sunrise/sunset.
For offices: Even more DECT calls possible at the same time
FRITZ!OS 8 also offers more convenience for offices where a lot of phone calls are made. The capacity for parallel DECT calls has been increased´, meaning up to five calls can now be made at the same time, instead of just three as was previously the case. With the release of FRITZ!OS 8, this will be possible for the FRITZ!Box models 7590, 7590 AX and 7583.
Set up FRITZ!Box with a smartphone
With FRITZ!OS 8 and later, users can set up a FRITZ!Box using a smartphone that has the MyFRITZ!App installed. The app guides users step-by-step through the entire installation process, directly from their smartphone or tablet. Setting up a FRITZ!Box for the first time, already known as an easy process, is now even faster and more intuitive thanks to the new user-friendly interface on the user's mobile device. Setting up a FRITZ!Box can be that easy: Download the MyFRITZ!App, scan the QR code and the First Configuration Wizard helps with all further steps.
