In June, AVM is launching two top models in Germany: FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro and FRITZ!Box 7690. The premium model FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro is suitable for both fiber optic and DSL connections thanks to integrated modems and, as a powerful tri-band Wi-Fi router, already has ultra-fast Wi-Fi 7 - ideal for browsing, streaming, working from home and gaming. FRITZ!Box 7690, the top model for DSL, can be used in all DSL networks and also supports Wi-Fi 7, with twice the Wi-Fi performance compared to its predecessor - perfect for a seamless online experience in all areas. Both models have 2.5 and 1 Gbit/s LAN ports as well as a USB port for maximum connectivity. In addition, they support the Zigbee, DECT ULE and, in the future, Matter standards, which enables the integration of many devices from other manufacturers into the Smart Home. Convenient and versatile telephony features, smart security features and the familiar advantages of FRITZ!OS such as Wi-Fi guest access, parental controls and automatic updates make the new FRITZ!Box models a future-proof control hub for every home. The FRITZ!Box 7690 will be available from 3 June (in Germany) for 329 euros (RRP) and the FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro will be available in stores (in Germany) in June for 369 euros (RRP).

FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro: Tri-band FRITZ!Box for fiber and DSL with Wi-Fi 7 and Zigbee

Thanks to integrated modems, the FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro can be used with both fiber optic and DSL connections and is perfect for making the switch from traditional copper telephone lines to fiber optic cables. It achieves top speeds of up to 2.5 Gbit/s on fiber optics and up to 300 Mbit/s on DSL connections. To ensure that wireless browsing, streaming, gaming and more continue to run quickly and smoothly in the future, the new FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro offers very powerful tri-band Mesh including 6 GHz, the new third frequency band for use in Wi-Fi. The new FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro supports the current Wi-Fi 6 wireless standard at 2.4 GHz as well as next-generation Wi-Fi 7 at 5 and 6 GHz, with improvements in latency, speed and throughput. Up to 18.5 Gbit/s can be achieved via a total of 12 antennas. In addition to this Wi-Fi power, the FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro also impresses with its wired networking. FRITZ!Box 7690 – a performance boost on DSL connections

The new FRITZ!Box 7690 sets new standards in terms of speed, performance and versatility. It can be used in all DSL networks and achieves speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s on the connection. The DSL top model supports the new Wi-Fi 7 at 5 and 2.4 GHz and, thanks to the 4x4 configuration, transmits via eight antennas. For ultra-fast browsing, streaming and gaming, the FRITZ!Box 7690 achieves Wi-Fi speeds of up to 7.2 Gbit/s, which is double the performance of the previous model. The new model also has a lot to offer when it comes to wired networking: two 2.5 Gbit/s LAN ports, one of which can also be used as a WAN port, for example for connecting to a fiber optic modem, while two 1-Gbit/s LAN ports ensure a fast and reliable connection to other devices in the network. The powerful hardware with a multi-core processor also enables accelerated processing of data packets, which significantly improves the efficiency and response speed of the FRITZ!Box 7690. Thanks to its large storage capacity, the router is optimally equipped for future feature updates. The FRITZ!Box 7690 also has a lot to offer when it comes to VPN performance. With WireGuard it achieves a six-fold increase compared to its predecessor, while with IPsec VPN connections are around three times faster.
