With FRITZ! products, the full potential of fiber optic connections can be realized. AVM will be demonstrating how this can be done at the FTTH Conference, which is taking place virtually this year (15-16 September).

AVM's solutions for fiber optic connections combine gigabit speeds with a wide range of features and innovative possibilities. For example, the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber can be used flexibly on all common fiber optic connections in Europe at up to 10 Gbit/s (AON/GPON/XGS-PON) thanks to the interchangeable modules. Media converters or an upstream modem are not necessary. Depending on the connection type, the appropriate plug-in module can be inserted into the integrated slot for fiber optic modules (transceivers) in SFP format. The BBF.247 certification for XGS-PON fiber optic technology and the certification from the Broadband Forum (BBF) for GPON technology confirm conformity with the important standards and thus the smooth operation of the FRITZ!Box in the different fiber optic networks.

Wi-Fi 6 and state-of-the-art Mesh Wi-Fi technology

To deliver the gigabit speed from the fiber-optic connection wirelessly throughout the house, AVM uses the new Wi-Fi 6 standard for both the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber and other FRITZ! products such as the FRITZ!Repeater 6000. This means even more data can be sent to or received by multiple wireless end devices simultaneously. Thanks to the extremely short response time, Wi-Fi 6 is also perfect for real-time applications or gaming. State-of-the-art´Mesh Wi-Fi technology including crossband repeating and Mesh Wi-Fi steering also ensures that users can integrate all wireless devices seamlessly and stably into the home network.

On Thursday (16 September, 11:30am) Eric van Uden, Country Manager Netherlands and fiber expert at AVM, will talk about fiber infrastructure in Europe as part of the "Voice of the Industry" panel discussion. In his presentation "Integrated Fiber Access Devices - The future of Fiber CPE", van Uden will address the respective challenges while also presenting solutions.
