Setting up the FRITZ!Box for use with a fiber optic connection

You want to use the FRITZ!Box with a fiber optic modem? ✔ It's easy with this guide.

Not only can you use your FRITZ!Box with an integrated DSL modem on a DSL line, you can also use it with an additional fiber optic modem on a fiber optic connection (Fiber to the Home, FTTH).

Since the FRITZ!Box establishes and controls its own internet connection over the fiber optic modem, all FRITZ!Box functions (such as firewall, telephony) are also available without restriction in this operating mode.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

  2. Enter the FRITZ!Box password given on the type label of the FRITZ!Box and click "Log In".
