Updating FRITZ!OS of the FRITZ!Repeater

The "online update" function allows you to install the latest FRITZ!OS for your FRITZ!Repeater quickly and easily. If an "online update" is not possible, for example when the repeater is not connected to the internet, update manually:

1 Using the repeater's user interface to update

  1. Click "System" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Click "Firmware Update" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Online Update" tab.
  4. Click the "Find New Firmware" button.
  5. Click the "Start Update" button.

2 Updating manually

Downloading the FRITZ!OS file

  1. Call up download.avm.de/archive/fritz.box/ in your web browser.
  2. Switch to the folder for your repeater model, then to the subfolder "firmware", and then to the folder "englisch".
  3. Download the file with the extension ".image" to the computer.

Installing the latest FRITZ!OS

  1. Click "System" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Click "Firmware Update" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Firmware File" tab.
  4. Click the "Browse..." or "Choose File" button.
  5. Select the update file you downloaded (image file).
  6. Click the "Start Update" button.
