Changing the FRITZ!Repeater's Wi-Fi settings

The FRITZ!Repeater automatically adopts the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and network key of the FRITZ!Box (or another router) during setup to allow devices in the home network to quickly switch between Wi-Fi networks (Wi-Fi roaming).

If necessary, you can also configure the FRITZ!Repeater's Wi-Fi settings according to your individual needs.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest firmware for the FRITZ!Repeater.

1 Changing the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID)

  1. Click "Wi-Fi" ("Wireless") in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Click "Radio Settings" in the "Wi-Fi" menu.
  3. Disable the option "Take on the same radio network name as the wireless access point (FRITZ!Box)".
  4. Enter a unique name without special characters for the "Name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID)".
  5. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
  6. Reconfigure the Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Repeater.
