Which file formats can FRITZ!Fon play?

With FRITZ!Fon you can directly play music files provided by a media server in your home network (for example the FRITZ!Box Media Server). FRITZ!Fon supports direct playback of the file formats MP3 and WAV. FRITZ!Fon does not display images or videos from the Media Server.

FRITZ!Fon can also be used as a UPnP control point and transmit files from the media server to other playback devices. This way, you can play music files on your stereo system that were provided by the FRITZ!Box Media Server in the home network, for example. FRITZ!Fon supports all of the file formats that are also supported by the media server. In order for a playback device or software to play a file transmitted from the media server, it must support the UPnP AV standard as well as the format of the file.
