FRITZ!Fon reports "Network error"

When you try to use an internet service with a FRITZ!Fon (for example listening to internet radio or podcasts), the message "Network error" appears on the telephone's display and playback fails.

1 Checking whether the web address is reachable

The web address entered for the internet service in the FRITZ!Box user interface may be temporary or permanently unavailable:

  1. Check whether you can listen to internet radio or podcasts with a different device or software (for example Windows Media Player). Enter the same web address in the device or software that you entered in the FRITZ!Box.

    Important:Test as soon as possible to rule out the possibility that the internet address was only temporarily not available.

  2. If playback with the other device also fails, contact the relevant provider or use a different web address.
