Low current flow to FRITZ!DECT smart plug when it is turned off

A low current flow to the smart plug FRITZ!DECT 200 can be measured when it is switched off. This causes a light plugged into the smart plug to glow faintly even when it is switched off, for example.

1 Plugging FRITZ!DECT 200 into the power outlet upside down

There may be a low current flow when the smart plug is turned off if the neutral conductor (N) is switched. Depending on the type and length of the cable between FRITZ!DECT 200 and the device plugged into the smart plug, low capacitive coupling of the cables may occur. This can be prevented if you disconnect the phase (L) wire:

  1. Plug the FRITZ!DECT 200 into the outlet upside down (turned 180 degrees).
