When making calls, you can hear the number being redialed after the call is answered

When you make calls, a cordless telephone redials the number of the party you are calling after they have already answered. Both parties can hear the sounds this makes. If an answering machine answered the call, it interprets the sounds made when the number is redialed as commands (for example entering a PIN, checking messages).

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Cordless telephone does not comply with the DECT standard

The telephone is not fully DECT-GAP-compatible. When a connection is established, the FRITZ!Box signals the status "Connect" to the telephone. This means: "The connection is established, no further dialing information is required". However, the telephone dials the number again.

Note:DECT-GAP is a common standard for cordless telephones and wireless data transmission that is supported by all FRITZ!Fon models.

Workaround

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "DECT" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Enable the option "Enable troubleshooting for cordless telephones not compatible with GAP".
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
