Setting up FRITZ!Box for use with an Orange line

The FRITZ!Box is optimally prepared for use with an Orange line. Simply connect the FRITZ!Box to the internet connection and select Orange as the internet service provider in the FRITZ!Box. The FRITZ!Box is then automatically configured.

The complete FRITZ!Box range of functions for internet, telephony, and multimedia is then available to all of the devices in your home network without restriction.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

1 Connecting the FRITZ!Box

  1. Either connect the FRITZ!Box to the DSL line or use the "LAN 1" port to connect the FRITZ!Box with the fiber optic modem (ONT, Optical Network Termination). For detailed information, refer to the quick guide included with the FRITZ!Box and the manual.

2 Configuring the internet connection in the FRITZ!Box

  1. Click "Wizards" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Enter the FRITZ!Box password on the bottom of the device and click "Log In".
  3. If the wizard for internet access does not start automatically, click "Wizards" and then "Configure the Internet Connection".

  4. Select "Orange Luxembourg" from the drop-down list and enable the correct connection type.
  5. Click "Next" and follow the wizard's instructions.

Now the FRITZ!Box establishes a connection to Orange that automatically configures the internet connection and your telephone numbers in the FRITZ!Box within the next 15 minutes.

Important:If configuration fails and the internet connection or telephone numbers are still not configured after 15 minutes, contact Orange.

3 Setting up telephony in the FRITZ!Box

Define which telephone number your telephony devices should use for making outgoing calls and to which telephone numbers the telephony devices should react to when you receive calls:

  1. Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Telephony Devices" in the "Telephony" menu.
  3. Click the (Edit) button for the respective telephony device.

Important:If the telephony device was not configured yet, click the "Configure New Device" button and follow the wizard's instructions.

  4. From the drop-down list "Outgoing Calls", select the number to be used by the telephony device for making calls. If you do not select a telephone number, the number entered under "Telephony > Telephone Numbers > Line Settings" is used for making outgoing calls.
  5. Select the numbers to which the telephony device should react when you receive calls. You can select up to ten numbers (including the number for outgoing calls).
  6. Click on "OK" to save the settings.
