Transferring telephone calls
You can transfer telephone calls to an external telephone number or to another telephone that is also connected to the FRITZ!Box.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
1 Preparations
The following steps are only necessary if the telephone or telephone system is connected to the "FON S0" socket:
- Enable "automatic transfer on-hook" on the ISDN telephones connected to your FRITZ!Box; telephone calls are then transferred automatically when you hang up. Refer to the manufacturer for information on how to set it up, for example consult the manual; often it can be found under the heading "Explicit Call Transfer" (ECT).
2 Assigning internal telephone numbers to ISDN devices
Telephones that are connected to the "FON S0" socket on the FRITZ!Box either directly or via an ISDN telephone system (PBX) cannot automatically be reached internally. Although the FRITZ!Box assigns an internal number to the telephones during setup, this telephone number must still be assigned in the telephone or the telephone system:
Configuring a telephone in the FRITZ!Box
- Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Telephony Devices" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Configure all of the telephones connected to the "FON S0" socket as ISDN telephones. To do so, click the "Configure New Device" button and follow the instructions.
Important:The wizard's ring test does not work due to an error in the FRITZ!Box. Click "Yes" when you are asked "Is the telephone ringing?", even if the telephone does not ring.
- If you connected an ISDN telephone system to the FRITZ!Box, also configure all of the analog telephones connected to this telephone system as ISDN telephones in the FRITZ!Box. To do so, click the "Configure New Device" button and follow the instructions.
Assigning an internal number in the FRITZ!Box
- Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Telephony Devices" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Click the (Edit) button for the relevant ISDN telephone.
- Select the internal number, for example 52, from the drop-down list "Number of the terminal device".
- Click "OK" to save the settings.
Assigning an internal number in a telephone
- Assign the internal number to the ISDN telephone as the incoming telephone number. If the telephone is connected to a telephone system, assign the telephone number to the extension of the telephone system instead of to the telephone.
3 Transferring a telephone call
- While conducting a telephone call, press the R key on your telephone.
Note:With FRITZ!Fon models that do not have an actual R key, the R key is displayed when you conduct a call (soft key). The key directly below the symbol functions as the R key.
- Enter the external number or ** followed by the internal number, depending on where you want to transfer the call. You can also use the "INT" key on a FRITZ!Fon.
Example:
To transfer the call to the first cordless telephone, enter **610.Note:You can find the internal numbers of the telephony devices under "Telephone Book > Internal Numbers" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- If you want to transfer the call directly, enter *4 on cordless telephones. With other types of telephones, simply hang up or enter R4.
- If you want to consult with the other person first:
- Wait for the person to accept the call.
- After consulting them, you can transfer the call as described above or enter R1 to return to the initial call.
- If you want to consult with the other person first:
